In this episode of their Silk Road journey, a travel couple explores the Lut Desert (Dasht-e Lut) and the oasis town of Shahdad in Iran. They start by checking into the modern Payab Guest House, rent bicycles to tour Shahdad's historical sights—including the ancient Twin Watermill, the prehistoric Dwarf City of Aratta, and the mirror-tiled Imamzadeh Zeyd Mosque. Later, they take a 4x4 tour through the historical Shafi Abad Caravanserai and deep into the spectacular wind-swept Kalut formations during a dramatic sandstorm. To conclude their Kerman region tour, they travel to the lush Shazdeh Garden in Mahan before catching a bus to Shiraz.
